IPA and KidsVoice2020 are looking for budding artists to perform in our upcoming Sunday Mini Market Concerts!
We are hoping to create a regular platform to provide public performing opportunities for performers at all skill levels, in a relaxed, non-threatening setting.
Public performance experience boosts an artist’s skill and confidence, as well as their own character.
Meet other aspiring young artists!!
Whether you are learning an instrument or singing, or love to recite poetry or tell a story, have a juggling act…etc, you are most welcome to join in! You don’t have to play perfectly, it is more like a party or jamming session. We may be getting a crowd audience…or not! Who cares? We are enjoying ourselves!
We should enjoy and show off our arts at whatever level we are at.
Invitations are extended primarily to young and newer performers in all arts, as well as to the more established artists and musicians as guest stars. This can be for solo artists or small groups. Various aspects of assistance can be provided like arranging backing tracks, equipments…etc.
If you would like to join in, or know someone who might, please let us know!
8:00am-12:00pm, 09/10/2021 Clermont Community Market Anglican Church Hall 52 Daintree St., Qld., Clermont
I am so excited to let you all know that on Australia Day KidsVoice 202 have been awarded the Group Achievement Medallion for Art and Culture!! We have also gotten two nominations, one for the Group Medallion, and the other for Community Event of the Year!
Congratulations to all of our participants and helpers in the projects!! Truly we could not have done it without all you kids’ enthusiasm and your parents’ help! I will be making prints of the award and send a copy out to each of our participants who have made a contribution to our recordings. Hopefully those of you who have missed out would be able to join in our future projects!
At present I am getting ready to get things going again. I was hoping to do a lot during the holiday but was just overwhelmed by all the stuff I had to do while in Brisbane and ended up doing much at all. Apart from carrying on with our It’s Time MkII: the VR version and more song recordings, I am hoping to organize more activities that would have a more lasting beneficial effect on our participants and the communities. Stay tuned!
And now I want to tell you about our next project: Christmas Carols KV2020!
Yes, we are starting to record a couple of Christmas Carols for the coming festive season! We may be able to play some of our songs at the various public holiday gathering like Christmas in the Park at Clermont, and even have some of our KidsVoice Stars performing LIVE on stage!
We will be singing Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, Jingle Bell Rock, and possibly O Holy Night as well! (Depending on my time available, I may only be able to get one or two carols finished before CITP, but they should all be finished by Christmas)
These carols will be easy as you would all know the songs already. All instructions will be given. Have a listen to sing along a few times and record away!
Remember that you do NOT have to be a good singer at all. You just need to want to have some fun and sing your heart out! I will do my studio magic to make us sound great!
And when we are done, you will be so proud to have these finished songs to show all your friends and relatives! And play them time and time again in all your futures years at Christmas time! Even to pass on to your future kids and grand kids!
We do not have a lot of time left, so if any of you are interested, join up NOW!
Hey all! It’s been a little while I last posted an update on our project, and that is because I have been burying my head deep into working on the project. For the past few weeks, any minute I have got free I am in front of my MacBook, editing away.
KidsVoice 2020-It’s Time has been going great! We now have a total of well over twenty kids, (from 3 to 16!) from all over the Isaac Region joining up. We have had many fun Zoom sessions(even though I got quite sick and had to be flown to Mackay Base, Michael and Angela took over the lead and kept these sessions going, better than I had!), and I have now received a total of nearly forty amazing audio recordings, as well as lots more video footages of our star doing all sort of I choreographed moves and dance steps!
It is a lot of work to clean up each audio file and to edit all the videos, then all to be adjusted and mixed into our final song and video! I have just seen Jasmine’s handiwork on her nearly finished video and I was just blown away! Once the Audio’s been finalised she will tidy the whole thing up and it would be ready for release!
When this is over I am hoping to make a long post writing about the details on the process for those who are interested, but right now I just have to concentrate on my project. We have really been completely overwhelmed but absolutely loving it!
Our finished product will be ready in a couple of weeks, and it will soon be released for our World Debut!
I am so sorry that I could not do the Zoom Sessions yesterday. I got admitted into the Clermont Hospital on Sunday night for a really bad tummy pain and they have not let me out since! And I have no idea how long they will keep me out of action as they have also just flown me to Mackay base hospital on a helicopter! Something funny going on in my stomach, liver, pancreas and gall bladder they said but they don’t know what yet!
Anyhow, Michael and Angela will be keeping the sessions going on while I am at the hospital. They know the song really well and so will be able to lead the group and go through all the bits with you in all the Sop1, Sop2 and Alto parts. Dean and Heath may also want to talk about the dance moves a bit!
We have postponed the missed Monday session to this Wednesday(2/9/20) instead, that is tomorrow same time. Please check your emails for details!
And hopefully I will be back in action in the coming Mondays!
We have now run a couple of Zoom Test Sessions as well as one Practise Sessions where many of you have met each other and I was so delighted to see the many happy faces and even some of our participants’ pets! And I am absolutely loving it that some of you are as young as 3 years old! (Yup! We are open to kids of ALL ages!)
The practise session have been recorded and posted online so anyone who have missed out on the session can watch it to catchup. There were a few teething problems with our timing and audio but they should be ironed out as we go.
This also means that anyone who wants to join up late can still do so! On top of the session recordings, there are a lot of other materials that you can use to learn the song. This includes all the music and lyric sheets, rhythm tracks at different speed to help you master the timing, as well as demo tracks(both with vocal or just instrumental) for all our parts. So you can just sing along to learn the song and do not even need to know how to read music! (although I will try to slip in some tips here and there so that you will learn a bit about it.)
Also if you need any assistance at all, just ring/message/email me and I will be there to help!
Remember too, if you or your child is young and cannot learn the entire song, they are welcome to just learn the easy Chorus bit, or in fact any part of the song they feel comfortable with!
So if you haven’t, JOIN UP NOW! You will be so proud when you get and be able to wear the FREE KidsVoice2020 Crew T-Shirt!
I have attached our key dates for you to mark on your calendar.
Here is a run down on what is going to happen. It is anticipated that the entire project will be finished in mid to late October. Your direct involvement will be 4-5 weeks. More details will be provided.
The Cutoff Date (15/08/2020)
Originally we had set it to 15/08/2020 as it helps us greatly to know the number for planning, however we have now extended it for at least a couple of weeks. If you wish to join late and are willing to catch up with the materials supplied, you are most welcome!
The Preparation Week(W1)
Roughly one week after the sign-up cutoff date, all learning materials will be provided.
Everybody can then picks their part(s) and is encouraged to listen to and sing along with the demo tracks to start learning them. The better you know your parts at the Zoom sessions, the more enjoyable the sessions would be for you!
During this week there will be two Zoom Testing Sessions available so you can try out Zoom and learn how to use it(really easy!). This will ensure that our practise sessions will run smoothly.
4 x Live Zoom Practice Sessions(W2-5)
We will then be starting our four weeks of Live Zoom Practice Sessions in which we will learn a section of the song each week. Each session would be about 30mins long for each part but you can log in a bit earlier to have a chit chat with each other.
It would be great if you can attend all the sessions.(sessions will be recorded for those who can’t) Your mics will be muted when singing due to technical reasons(latency), so you don’t have to feel apprehensive at all! We can’t hear you, yet you would still feel like you are singing with everybody! It really is lots of fun!
Along the way you may also be given choreographed dance move videos to be learnt and recorded as well. You can also create your own moves and be really silly about it too!
We may also need to do a lip sync video as well.
Recording and Submission(W5)
After we all know the entire song you will have one week to record your singing and video(?) and have them submitted. It may take you a couple of hours at the most, and probably a lot less!
This will take us a few days into the school holiday, so it might be a good idea to do the recording and submission a bit earlier if you are going away. (or you can do some of your dancing video at exotic locations!)
The Wait(W6-10?)
After that it will take us a few weeks to have all the recordings tweaked and be put into the final audio mix, and video editing will start after that.
How long it will take will depend on the number of participants we end up with. It will take me at least a few hours to work on each recording, so it will take some time! I’d be all crossed eyes by the end of it I am sure! LOL
Then if we are doing a Music Video we still need to edit it. So be patient with the wait. It will be worth it!
Launch Party! (W10?)
When the final song is ready to go, we will be having a final Zoom session, our Launch Party!
We will be playing our much anticipated new finished song to you all, and we can have a couple of go singing together! Then we can just relax and have a bit of chit-chat! Have some munchies and nice drink ready to celebrate the result of all our hard work!
We may even be able to do a count down to launch our finished song online!
So that’s the plan for our exciting journey! Hic ups may happen though so it may be subject to change. If you do encounter any problems or worry at all along the way please do let us know and we will be here to help you sort it out!
If you’re ready to let your hair down, sing a great tune and meet kids across the Isaac Region, then this might be just what you’re looking for!
This project is designed for kids all the way up to 17 years of age. You’ll get to attend a lesson each week ONLINE and learn how to sing this great song – It’s Time by Imagine Dragons.
You know what they say, the more the merrier! So grab some of your favourite people and sign up for this FREE project! Don’t forget to share this on public media so that everyone in the Isaac finds out about it! Leave no stone unturned. Share, Share, Share!
